How to use
Apply to your eyelids using your fingers or a brush. Then blend. Step 1: Apply the soft, neutral beige shade (PD.005) all over the eyelids and to highlight the brow bone. Step 2: Blend the pale grey shade (PD.006) into the crease to add definition. Step 3: Add the metallic silver shimmer (PD.007) to the centre of the eyelids to visibly brighten and open up the eyes. Step 4: Run the deep charcoal grey shade (PD.008) along the lash line(s) for extra intensity.
Pati’s step-by-step guide on how to create the ultimate smoky eye.
Step 1: Start by applying a dark grey or soft black eyeliner along the lower waterline and over the lower lash-line. Blink a few times and blend with the smaller end of the New Pro Blend & Smudge Brush. Then take it up to the outer corner. Blink and blend again with the brush.
Step 2: Next, take the eyeliner along the top lash-line, focusing on the outer-third, and then take the pencil up and around to the outer crease of the eye. This creates a frame for where your eyeshadow is going to go. Blend the eyeliner with the small end of the New Pro Blend & Smudge Brush. Pro Tip: For hooded eyes, apply the eyeliner along the entire hooded area and blend well to create depth.
Step 3: Now it’s time to apply some eyeshadow on top of the eyeliner pencil. Start with the darkest of the smoky shades - matte black (PD.008) – using the smaller end of the brush. Apply this eyeshadow over the eyeliner pencil only. (The pencil gives you the placement groundwork for where the dark shadow is going. The pencil is also going to help hold the shadow in place, so you’ll have fewer smudges.) Trace along the lower lash line and the outer corner of the eye. Soften the edges with your fingertip. Now take the brush up to the outer corner of the eyelid and outer crease of the eye. (Only apply the dark shade to the outer corner of the eye to help elongate the eyes. You don’t want a lot of darkness on the actual eyelid.) Next, use the larger end of the brush to make sure the finish is soft and blended.
Step 4: Still using the larger end of the brush – and patting off any excess before application – apply the soft, neutral beige (PD.005) to the inner portion of the eye in gentle strokes. Pro Tip: If your eyes have a more open shape, apply this light shade to the centre of the eye instead; if your eyes are more hooded, apply to the brow bone only.
Step 5: Apply the matte pale grey (PD.006) to the outer portion and centre of the eyelid. It’s meeting up with the matte black shade.
Step 6: For the final eyeshadow step, press and tap the metallic silver shimmer (PD.007) over the centre of the eyelids to visibly brighten and open up the eyes.
Step 7: Apply multiple coats of Uber Volume™ Boost Velvet Formula Mascara in Super Black to the upper and lower lashes to intensify the smoky feel.
